Take care of your hair!!!

Today I wanna talk about taking care of your hair.  In todays world we spend a small fortune on our hair.  Between cuts, color, and hair extensions we spend a ton of money on our hair.  A TON!! I think it's safe to say it is actually an investment.  With that being said please keep that in mind when reading the rest of this.  I'm not saying spend thouands of dollars on product or anything, I promise.  I'm just saying, would you buy an IPAD and put a great value cover on it to protect it.  It works as a cover but does not protect it.  That is kinda like your hair.

Taking care of your hair starts with GREAT shampoo and conditioner.  Shampoo and conditioner that is made for your hair type.  With that being said find out what texture your hair is. Find out what you need your shampoo and conditioner to do. Help straighten it, keep the color in your hair, give it moisture, give it volume, etc.  If you have any problems come by the salon and I'll do what I can to fix you up.  These are a few I have found to be great.  I have also put what hair type they are best for underneath the picture.  These are avaiable at any fine salon.

For thick course hair :-)

You need a deep conditioner.  This will help to keep you from getting split ends.  It also helps to repair the damage from everyday things, sun, water, hairspray, ponytails, etc.  Along with helping any chemical damage you might have.  This should be used weekly or biweekly depending on your hair.  I have found several to be great but these 2 are the ones that are actually my favorite.

If you have damaged hair or your hair tends to have tangles you need a leave-in treatment.  I actually only have 2 and either of these are AMAZING!! I actually keep both in my bathroom :).

The next thing you need is a GREAT comb or brush to comb out your hair I swear by the new "wet brush".  It is designed to brush out wet hair with out damage and minimize tangles! It is amazing.  My kiddo actually tells me we can't brush her hair with other brushes.  She will go find our purple wet brush so it doesn't hurt.

If you straighten or use any heat on your hair, you need to make sure you have a flat iron spray or thermal protectant.  This will burn off your hair or seal into it as a treatment.  It just depends on your prefernce.  Here are a few that work well and what hair type they work best with.

Along with these products there are a few more things to do to keep your hair in tip top condition.  Make sure you keep up to date on trims.  A half inch every 6 to 10 weeks depending on when your hair starts to get split ends.  Also salon deep conditioners for really damaged hair monthly or bimonthly is a really good idea too.  These are the most important things to do to take care of your hair! I hope you found this informative and helpful!
